Vulnerability can be frightening, but the end result, I believe, is worth it. If you find yourself struggling with constant worry, hopelessness, insecurity and people-pleasing behaviors, there is hope. Paralyzing thoughts and unwanted behaviors do not have to control your life.
As a licensed professional counselor, I collaborate with clients on identifying the barriers that have lead to the stress in their lives and implementing a plan that is catered to their needs. Finding a therapist that you both connect with and trust is vitally important for growth and change. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore what is preventing them from getting to where they want to be in their lives.
I work from a clinical approach of both cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, to help clients learn applicable coping mechanisms to deal with life stressors. From an attachment theory approach, I work with individuals on addressing unmet needs and unprocessed trauma that may have developed in early childhood and are currently affecting their interpersonal relationships. As a Christian, my faith is very important to me and upon request, I’m open to work with any individuals who would like a therapeutic approach from a Christian worldview. From this approach, I integrate both a biblical perspective and applicable evidenced-based therapy methods into the session. I consider it both an honor and a privilege to hear one’s story of what’s brought them to therapy.
I have worked in various settings, such as working in urban city schools to practicing family therapy in community care. My greatest passion has been working with young adults 18+ in a private practice setting as they navigate life’s struggles and transitions from post-college, break-ups, new careers and exploring their true self.
