
Most of us are pretty hard on ourselves. We wouldn’t dare say to others what we tell ourselves. Our tough inner-critic is often the result of our shame and perfectionism.
Many of my clients are high-achieving perfectionists. I often ask, “What would it look like if you were to infuse some self-compassion into this situation?” It’s often easy to be kind to others, yet have really high expectations for ourselves.
