“I’m tired of feeling this way.” “I want to experience joy again, but I feel stuck.” “I’m feeling lost and confused.” “Our marriage isn’t working anymore.” “The stress of juggling careers and kids has pulled us apart.”
Does any of this sound familiar? In the safe space of therapy, I work with individuals and couples to change unhelpful patterns and develop new ways of working through the challenges they face.
Individual Counseling
Perhaps your panicky, anxious feelings get in the way of being able to enjoy life and have satisfying relationships. Maybe you work hard to avoid painful memories from your past, but you find yourself repeating the same patterns over and over. Or you’ve experienced some success in your career, but you find yourself struggling with deep self-doubt.
Together we can explore what is going on, look at your needs and longings, and see how you can experience growth and healing. I value that you feel heard and understood as we work together. I will listen carefully to you and help find the approaches that fit you best. We will identify the resources, strengths and resiliencies you already have, and clarify the changes you want to see in your life. New ways of thinking, feeling, and acting are possible for you.
Couples Counseling
Do you feel disconnected from each other? Maybe your marriage feels more like a long slog than the close loving relationship you hope for. The painful hurts have pushed you far apart and you feel stuck.
I work with struggling couples and couples in crisis who want to change how they relate. We will work on identifying the ruts you get trapped in and the strengths that help keep you together. I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy, a highly effective approach for couples of any cultural background, as we create a plan that addresses your unique needs. I will listen to both of you and help you work together to renew and strengthen your marriage.
It’s possible to restore trust and intimacy when it has been lost. As the two of you develop new ways to connect, you can become closer than before, with a deeper, more secure bond.
